For patterns, Bodhi Leaf is adopted as it symbolizes Sakyamuni’s indifference to fame and fortune, and his genuineness and peace. For the color processing, the Bodhi Leaf shoes choose the fervent orange and red, but process it in Giorgio Morandi’s Watercolors, which is prevalent for its mysterious gray tone and static beauty. Transforming the bright colors into unadorned ones implies shoe wearers stand aloof from endless desires after ups and downs.

Bodhi Leaf shoes’ layering design also embraces the best wishes. Layer patterns hint the six Bodhi leaves in Buddhism which represents faith, hope, affection, luck, wealth and reputation respectively. UIN shoes are the result of the aesthetic vision of Fernando Acevedo – Spanish artist strongly linked with Barcelona and Toledo. Inspired by the exceptional artwork of Antoni Gaudi, Fernando incorporated subtle Spanish elements into UIN shoe design. This is why UIN Footwear bears Acevedo’s signature – a map of Spanish city Toledo imprinted on the underside of each shoe. Additionally, all UIN shoes pay tribute to Gaudi’s artwork Casa Milaà whose wavy structure was adopted in a curvature of UIN shoe sole representing Gaudi’s artistic belief – “The straight line belongs to men, the curved one to God.”
